Alfred Charles Kinsey was the son of a self-ordained Methodist preacher who believed in a strict, asexual family environment. A sickly and frail child after suffering from several severe illnesses (ex. rickets and typhoid), Kinsey was often bullied by his classmates, as well as his admonishing father.
